Attendees will gain an in-depth understanding of the epidemiologic and mechanistic links between obesity and cardiovascular disease (CVD), including the roles of inflammation, insulin resistance, and adipose tissue dysfunction. Sessions will cover critical topics such as heart failure, the obesity paradox, and limitations in cardiovascular risk assessment in individuals with obesity. Evidence-based strategies for prevention and treatment, including the use of anti-obesity medications (AOMs), bariatric surgery, and lifestyle interventions, will be discussed with an emphasis on tailoring approaches to individual patient profiles.
Breakout sessions during Obesity Summitâ„¢ will highlight emerging areas like the role of gut microbiota and sex-specific cardiovascular risks in women with obesity.
