Posted 4 months ago
Dear PAs in Obesity Medicine Members,
It is with great excitement that I announce your newly elected Board of Directors for the 2024-2025 term! This is the first time since the launch of PAOM that we have been able to hold elections by our members, and I have been excited to see the growth and expansion of this awesome organization of PAs dedicated to advancing the field of obesity medicine for our peers and mostly, for our patients living with this complex, chronic, and TREATABLE disease!
The newly elected officers for your PAOM Board include:
- President-Elect: Ledyi Ballesteros
- Secretary: Nicole Fox
- Director-at-Large: Martine Altieri
- Director-at-Large: Lauren Williams
- House of Delegates PAOM Delegate: Erica Amianda
New Committee Members also include:
- Alison Olsen
- Angela Thatcher
- Erika Bramlette
- Emalie Scott
- Kris Pyles-Sweet
Congrats to our newly elected officers as they join our remaining board members:
- Immediate-Past President: Karli Burridge
- Treasurer: Karon Potter
It has certainly been an exciting past few years for our organization and for the rapid development of our field, with new, more effective therapies, evolving insurance coverage, and monumental growth of our field. It has been my distinguished honor to serve as your President since PAOM officially became an AAPA caucus. I truly believe that PAs are uniquely positioned to be THE leaders in this field, and that we can change healthcare from a reactive system of treating the complications of obesity, to treating the root cause of most chronic diseases that affect our patients.
Thank you all for your support and your passion. Also, thank you to the rest of this founding Board, and those who are stepping up as new leaders, for all you have done and continue to do to move us forward. If you want to get more involved with PAOM, including serving on a committee, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at PAsinObesitymedicine@gmail.com.
There will be bumps along the way, but the future is BRIGHT for PAs in Obesity Medicine and for the patients we can help!
Healthy Regards,
