Registration is now open for the OMA Academy's Pediatric Obesity Care: Basics & Beyond, a hybrid (on-demand + live-virtual) course designed for healthcare professionals who treat children, adolescents, and young adults with obesity.
 
Before the live virtual session on Saturday, October 18, participants will complete six expert-led, on-demand modules/webinars, covering key topics like evaluation and assessment, nutrition, treatment modalities, psychosocial support, pharmacotherapy, and metabolic & bariatric surgery. The course culminates in a half-day interactive session featuring clinical case discussions in small breakout groups where participants can interact with course faculty and bring questions and case scenarios.

About the Course:
Pediatric Obesity Care: Basics & Beyond is a multi-module hybrid (on-demand + live-virtual) course designed to provide introductory education on evidence-based strategies for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating pediatric obesity in clinical settings. This course is appropriate for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, clinicians-in-training, and other healthcare providers who care for children, adolescents, and young adults with obesity.

Prior to the live-virtual session, participants will complete six on-demand webinars covering key topics, including:
1. The Disease of Obesity in Youth
2. Evaluation and Assessment
3. Obesity Treatment Modalities 
4. Behavioral/Psycho-social Support 
5. Pharmacotherapy 
6. Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery

*These lectures will be available for viewing beginning in September 2025.
On Saturday, October 18, participants will join a live, interactive half-day virtual session featuring expert-led breakout groups. In these sessions, attendees will collaborate on clinical case discussions and apply course content to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
